The word “wait.” So many times I’ve found it difficult. I often wanted to run away from hearing that word, my sister. But I have found that with God’s help I am able to wait.
Will you wait on the Lord?
~
Oh Lord, teach us to wait on You.
So many times we take You for granted,
Going about our daily lives without putting You first.
Easily we get caught up with the cares of this world,
Trying to carry the burdens of life on our backs.
Do we not remember that Your word says
Our Father in heaven knows all and sees all?
If You are able to care for the birds of the air,
Then why do we not trust?
Sometimes we sit or kneel to pray
And get up without hearing
What You have to say.
We do not realise that You sometimes
Answer our prayers by saying “no” –
The best answer for that particular situation or season.
Holiness, righteousness, purity
Is what You ask of us –
To give You our all.
We say thank You, Lord
For picking us up each time we fall.
Surrendering, we give You our all today.
Show us Your ways.
To You our hands we raise.
Forever and always
We give You praise.
Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.
